What customers say?

“ I saw this chippy on Gary Eats, a you tuber I follow… So decided to give it a try as I was working in the area fancied something for lunch. I love the fact they cook in beef dripping, some of the negative reviews on here mention that. But for me and a majority of the people on here we love that and long may it continue. I went for chips and curry sauce today, and I have to say it’s probably one of the best curry and chips I’ve had. I really enjoyed it, thanks for your great traditional cooking and also the staff being friendly. Also thought it was great it’s served in a nice paper box with a generous helping. All in all, the food is of a great quality, with a very generous helping and very reasonably priced. So if you’ve not been here yet, come and try the place and help support a traditional chippy fun by a family. ”

“ Drawn like moths to a particularly inviting flame, he promise that their fishy fare is cooked in beef dripping (just like your gran used to do) lures us out on this ominous October evening. We're greeted with a resolutely old school chippy that appears to have not been updated in a good twenty years, and feels all the more welcoming for the fact. A comprehensive menu offers delights beyond the usual fish and chips (think burgers and kebabs) but it's the fish that's the star of day; fresh, tasty and utterly decadent, both fish and chips are next level delicious and we cannot wait to return, if only to try the Mushy Pea Fritter.... ”

“ Great traditional fish and chips shop. They are without a doubt one of the best in the UK for quality also portion size and price. Had a lunch time special four of the biggest cod bites I've ever had and chips for five pounds yes five pounds. Absolutely incredible I had a pea fritter on the side as an extra, took me right back to my childhood as I haven't seen them in years. They also do kebabs we tried them last week they are awesome too the freshness and quality was great too. Honestly this place is worth a long journey to get too, you.csn get the no411 bus and the bus stop is jyst outside the shop. There was one thing that shocked me and that was the amount of customers queuing outside to be served, it just goes to show if you get it right as sn owner customers will come from far and wide Nearly forgot the staff and so friendly and helpful too. The premises is a traditional look with no indoor seating unfortunately plus it was spotlessly clean. Disabled access is a push door no step so access is fine Overall like I said it's an easy solid 10 pit of 10. Keep up the great work and thank you to the very patient and friendly staff ”

“ 40 min round trip and it was worth it. £7 fish and chips lunch time special and it was the best fish i can remember having and great chips. The lady serving was charming. Would be better if we could eat in as there is ketchup and curry sauce all over the car. ”

“ Best Fish and chips I've ever had. (For context we live in Weybridge) It was my birthday, And I'm off to Rome in a few days So I thought I would do a budget birthday lunch, Lets get takeaway fish and chips and go and eat them by the river. We avoid seed oils as much as we can. So I googled fish and chips locally that cook in beef dripping...This one popped up in google. It did not disappoint. I love how when you walk in, it has retro/Vintage vibes (Lots of wood) Felt like the fish and chips you'd visit by the coast as a child. Please do not ever refurbish, It looks great! The fish and chips were amazing, Best we've ever had. We had 3 x Lunchtime special small fish and chips and 1x battered sausage. The small fish and chips were £7 each. Generous portion. I couldn't finish mine, My husband finished mine and wished he ordered a large as it didn't have the horrible heavy feeling you sometimes get from fish and chips cooked in over oils. Really lovely staff as well serving great quality food for a very reasonable price. Please don't change a thing! P.s one of your fryers has a resemblance to Louis theroux. ”

“ Probably the best chippy I’ve ever had! Everything is cooked in beef fat and you can really taste it, makes everything so much more flavourful. On top of that the portion sizes are great and actually a decent price. 10/10 ”

“ Very tasty fish and chips cooked in beef dripping, which definitely makes the difference. I had the "small" fish and chips lunch deal - which includes mushy peas for £7, and is anything but small. The taste was amazing, the batter could have been crispier - but I still scoffed it all with great joy. The service was very friendly and efficient. It was more than worth spending 2 hours on buses from Bromley to get to. I am almost certainly going to return. ”

“ Felt like I travelled back in time stepping into this authentic establishment. So pleased that they use beef dripping like the old days, much healthier than seed oils. So impressed by value for money and portion size. Delicious cod bites and chips with mushy peas. Will be coming back and recommending. ”
